Try and Error - The Punishment

This article is about my second pvp analysis while using a Punisher. I bought me 10 Punishers after I found a fitting in the Battleclinic forum. I had already three fights in December 2013 with this fitting and my kill-ratio is 1:2 at the moment.

My Nano-Punisher comes handy to hunt some fast ships with Mwd. For example: Kiting frigates don't use a Scrambler instead they use a Disruptor + Mwd to stay at range. My goal was to catch those ships and don't have to worry to getting webbed.

You can copy my fit and past it in your EFT if you like...

EFT says 44sec last the cap when all is on and hot,
but when micromanaging cap lives much longer.

I spotted the Kestrel (his name was Gary) about 100km away of the enemies headquarter and there was a gap of 130km between us. In this fight I did many things wrong. First, I hadn't overheated my Mwd and when I got at close range I didn't deactivate my Mwd instead I activated overheat. My signature radius was huge and when I slowed down I took big hits, this wasn't necessary. Then I overheated my Scrambler much to long. My guns I didn't overheated at all, and why the hell I used Scorch crystals. I should use faction Multifrequency or Conflagration next time. At last, I didn't activate the Nos, lucky me the Kestrel exploded before my cap was empty. I should use the Nos next time.

In this fight I did two major thing wrong. First, I spotted a FFA fleet at a gate and tried to separate them. My intention was good, but I didn't execute my thoughts. Last year I got hunted by RvB fleets and every time I needed a planet or belt far far away for separating a ship from the fleet to attack it. This time I approached a save spot without separate them first. I got attacked by a Slasher and a Rifter. I thought I could handle this. Maybe I could, but my second error was that I wanted to catch the Rifter. If I had waited longer the whole fleet would probably align me and I could have killed one. But no, I didn't warp off instead changed my course and got scrambled, damn stupid.

This time I spotted a Rifter far away from a gate and I engaged him with throttling speed so he didn't warp off. It took me far to long time to realize he was faster than me and after that I decided to warp off. I was hoping he would follow me so I could catch him at my destination. While I was warping I though of reloading my SAAR, but I didn't because I had no Nanite Repair Paste in my cargo, also the reloading time would took ages. Note to me: Next time I have to warp to a destination far far away, so I can reload all my mods while warping. A Kestrel (his name was Neutral Shock) was following me. He warped in at zero and I was 25km away. I should have warped off but I didn't because if he didn't had a Medium Shield Extender I could had won this fight. But I noticed a difference between the shield tank of  Neural Shock and Gary ... Gary's Small Shield Extender was like paper because he had no powergrid left over. Next time Gary should use a target painter instead. Anyway, I had a lack of Nanite Repair Paste and lost this fight. I hadn't overheated my weapons and I didn't knew why I activated my Mwd in the middle of the fight. I need more practice! Neural Shock looted my stuff and ran into a fleet. His lost was hilarious, he lost over 16 million  in the end (Killmail). Thats the reason I hadn't looted any wrecks anyway, because people could warp to the wreck and attack me. I should align to a save spot before my enemy explodes, this had helped me a lot back in the days to escape fleets.

Review

I need to find ways to lure foes away of fleets. Most enemies I spotted at stations and gates, on its way to a fleet. I should lure enemies to planets and belts far away of traffic. Then I could pay more attention when micromanaging my ship. Last but not least, I should repair and reload all items after each fight.

All advice is welcome!
